travel quotes and stories: 5 REASONS WHY PEOPLE TRAVEL OR WOULD WANT TO TRAVEL

Often times we ask why and what do people really travel for. What is the motivation, what comes to people’s mind that makes them decide to travel? Trust me I ask these questions too.

If I were asked these same questions, my answers will portray two of my many personalities. Being a foodie, I would tell you the main reason I travel or would travel to places is to enjoy different delicacies around the world, like going all the way to Tokyo for a sumptuous Sushi and washed down with beer and sake, or to enjoy my couscous and Tajine in Morocco. My love for photography on the other hand will make me travel or want to travel to take fascinating pictures of food, people, places and historical monuments.

But I had taken my time to read and hear from people what will make them think of travelling or what has made them travel, and I got many great responses of which some I will share with you and much more that I can even start writing. All the responses I got thrilled me to putting up this post and I hope you enjoy them too

TO EXPERIENCE OTHER CULTURE

Every country has their own way of life, that keeps the people together. The culture that makes them celebrate together. Travelling to experience this culture and beliefs is the reason why some people travel or want to travel. They want to experience the fun the people derive doing this together, learn from it and tell stories about it. No one tells a story better than a traveler who has been able to not only read about or imagined but has only visited and participated. So in case you have ever felt it was absurd to want to travel for this reason, you are not alone.

TO APPRECIATE HISTORY

Remember those history classes we took and seem so boring and time wasting for us. We couldn’t care less who and what happened then. Travelling to the destinations that harbors those historical monuments enables us to appreciate the historical teachings we never asked for. We are then assured of the real existence of these monuments. We gain more knowledge and experience the beauty and the damage. A visit to Egypt to see the tomb of Queen Nefertiti, the Great Pyramid of Giza and much more.

TO CREATE MEMORIES

Nothing seem more fun than travelling with friends and family to create awesome and unforgettable moments that stays longer than time. Time spent with loved ones is never a waste, the long trips to many destinations, the activities, the food leaves you with endless crazy memories. Trust me dying with memories is better than dying with dreams. The nostalgia just never go away, every time you meet or remember those friend and family you took the trip with. Sometimes travelling alone is fun but every other time have travel buddies and create the best moments of life.

TO ACKNOWLEDGE LIFE

One day you might just wake up and realize you haven’t lived the life. Sometimes you should just get up, step out, get a flight ticket or hop on the next train to where you haven’t been before and let your wandering soul take charge. It’s not all those who wander that are lost, some are just celebrating life, some just realized they have to exist. To travel is to live and if you have to travel to really live so be it.

TO DISCOVER ONESELF

Travel gives you the opportunity to discover yourself. It exposes you to great knowledge of things, people and places. Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer- richer in knowledge, experience and makes you find out your capabilities. You will realize what a tiny space in the world you occupy. It makes you embrace those things you thought you couldn’t do, it just takes a first time and you realize it was fear that has been holding you back.

I could keep writing and run out of ink and pages, there are many reasons why people travel, want to travel. People also travel for health purpose, to relax and relieve stress, to shift perspectives and many more.
